Welcome to TrotBritain

TROTBritain is the governing body of trotting horse racing in Great Britain. TROTBritain are members of The European Trotting Union (UET) and our aim is to grow the sport and be recognised throughout Europe and worldwide as a country dedicated to breeding, training and racing trotters.

Since the help from our friends Le Trot, trotting horse racing has gone from strength to strength in Great Britain. We have many missions to complete in the coming seasons for everyone to benefit from, leading to an exciting future for TROTBritain.

TROTBritain as a non-profit organisation, undertaking the following roles and responsibilities include:

• Licensing of owners, trainers, drivers and jockeys

• Formulating and implementing the rules of trotting racing in the UK

• Endeavouring to ensure the integrity of trotting horse racing

• Insisting on the humane treatment of equines

• Promoting the breeding of trotters

• Endeavouring to find forever homes for our ex racing equines.

TROTBritain has something for everyone, along with our traditional sulky racing, we also have Monte racing.

Monte is a form of race riding with the horse remaining in a trot gait rather than galloping. We have had many people take up a license with TROTBritian who were formally licensed with other riding organisations for example, Point to Point and British Showjumping.
